WARMINSTER, PA – Residents of Ann’s Choice held a home run derby last week in celebration of the Phillies 2007 season opener. More than 20 men and women residents of the community competed at bat and spectators tested their Phillies knowledge with trivia contests taking place during the competition. It was also the opening event for the community’s Summer Olympics, which will run through September.
Festivities began with a color guard from the Ann’s Choice veterans group presenting the American Flag, and the Ann’s Choice chorus performing the National Anthem.
Sportscaster Don Robertson, who now lives at Ann’s Choice and was known as the “Voice of CBS Sports” for 30 years, served as the announcer for the event, which was held on the gazebo lawn. Robertson was assisted by fellow resident Roy Alker and Ann’s Choice Wellness Coordinator Luann Foster. (Lauren Campione)
