Madeline Waldman loves her home. She moved in April of 2004 and every minute has been an exciting one, she says. Waldman moved to Ann’s Choice looking for a change of pace.

Time to reconnect
A naturally outgoing person, when Waldman moved in, she wasted little time before she got heavily involved with the Speakers Bureau, a few card clubs, and reconnected with friends. “I didn’t realize how many of my friends are here,” she says. “It immediately felt like home.”

Waldman gave up the everyday chores of maintaining her house in Abington, Pa, but still had plenty to keep her busy. Not having to take care of a house meant more time to pursue her passions. “It’s just so much fun here,” she says “It’s a great place to be. There’s always something to do, and the people here are the friendliest I’ve ever met. It’s really like a resort. You can do as much or as little as you want. The sky is the limit.”

Waldman chose the one bedroom Brighton floor plan. “I was looking for something more manageable and this was right in my price range,” she says. After looking at a variety of options around the Philadelphia area, she decided on an Erickson community. She loved everything the Brighton offered. “It has all that I need and is very roomy. Everyone at Ann’s Choice was so helpful, too. I had an idea what I wanted, and the transition was easy. I’m a very organized person, but there’s still plenty of room for my things.”

She doesn’t cook much
Her kitchen is well appointed, too, she says, but Waldman prefers to dine out. “I spent years cooking, so I love to eat at the restaurants with friends. The most I cook now is eggs in the morning or something quick for lunch. I didn’t come here to cook!” She also loves to drive to town for lunch or to do some shopping.

Waldman says that she occasionally has friends and family over for drinks and to catch up. She hosts the get-togethers in her Great Room. It boasts some impressive views from inside. “The view is amazing,” she says. “I have a wonderful view of the gazebo and the gardens. You can’t ask for much more,” she says. “I love it here. I’m going strong.”
