THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
As a systems analyst who is beginning his 42nd year working for the federal government, Tom Kane knows a thing or two about making smart decisions. That’s why after discussing whether it made sense to move to Ann’s Choice now or later, he and his wife Mary Ann chose “now.”
“We’re still a fairly young couple,” laughs Tom. “I’m 67 and she’s 64, but we knew about Ann’s Choice and how fast it was selling out. We didn’t want to miss out and decided it was better to move now while we were able to enjoy all the activities and amenities.”
So as Tom continues to work full time, the Kanes moved to the highly coveted Liberty Commons neighborhood in July and began their new life in the carefree, maintenance-free community.
“Mary Ann is interested in all sorts of activities, so once we get settled I know she’s going to look into joining a few of the many clubs available at Ann’s Choice,” says Tom. “I’m looking forward to perhaps getting involved with the TV studio that’s right down the hall. But the first thing I’m looking forward to is not having to worry about upkeep and maintenance on the house.”
Maintenance-Free Living Is the Way
Before moving into the Patterson, a two-bedroom, two-bath spread in Braxton Court overlooking the beautiful Liberty Commons courtyard, the Kanes lived in an adult community in Doylestown, Pa.
“We liked it there, but we moved from Warminster, where we lived for 19 years, to another single family home in Dolyestown,” says Tom. “We soon felt that the house was too big for us and I didn’t like having to maintain it. Ann’s Choice will be a different story. We have two bedrooms, a sunroom which will be our dining area, and a large living room for having family and friends over.”
Tom also likes the fact that everything is on one floor. After his wife suffered a bad fall last year, he’s glad that she won’t have to be going up and down stairs in their home.
