THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Just as it happened the first time Thaddeus “Ted” Szczepkowski first laid eyes on his wife almost 50 years ago, he was just as selfassured the first time he visited his future home at Ann’s Choice.
“I knew this was it,” Ted thought. “Some people spend years searching for the right community, but we came here from Cinnaminson, N.J., and liked it immediately. We decided we didn’t need to see any place else.”
Ted and his wife liked everything about Ann’s Choice, especially “the airiness.” It didn’t feel like a retirement home “because it really isn’t one,” he says. “We found it so spacious with lots of beautiful landscaping. The grounds are very nice and professionally kept. We could just sit back and enjoy the scenery and get to know all the great people here.”
So Many Options
Ted says the thing that stands out to him about Ann’s Choice is the sense of community. “It’s grown a lot in the time I’ve been here. New Liberty Commons is a fabulous addition. Now with two clubhouses you’d think it would divide the people here, but actually it’s united them. My friends and I eat dinner over at Signatures restaurant (in Liberty Commons) all the time. It’s not far at all and we always get a big gang to go.”
He’s also impressed by the number of amenities they continue to add, such as the Performing Arts Center, TV studio, fullservice spa, expanded library, second lounge with billiards, putting green, and more.
“I also like the fact that you can continue to create clubs,” he says. With more than 75 clubs and activities at Ann’s Choice, Ted and his friends have added another one.
“It’s the Radio Amateur Club,” he says. “Basically we work with ham radios, the kind that provide communications during storms.” In addition to this exciting new club Ted and a number of other residents belong to the Veteran’s Group. “We meet in the Performing Arts Center, we also assist as valets for performances.
