THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Imagine being the first one to discover not just a new home, but an entire new community. Shirley Riel, Ann’s Choice first resident and pioneer, did just that two and a half years ago when she moved to Ann’s Choice from Annapolis, Maryland.
Since then Ann’s Choice has grown by leaps and bounds to the tune of 999 residents. On March 6 in a ceremony that included three mouth-watering cakes at the new Liberty Commons Clubhouse, Ann’s Choice welcomed the 1,000 and 1,001 residents, Will and Dorothy Kathrins of Warminster, Pennsylvania.
“I hope you love Ann’s Choice as much as I do,” said Shirley to the Kathrins. “I’ve been here two and a half years and I’m really, really happy.”
Shirley handed the Kathrins a plaque commemorating the milestone to which Dorothy replied, “Shirley, I understand why you’re so happy. We’ve been here only a short while and we’re incredibly happy already. We’re glad we moved here.”
Joe LoCascio
, Ann’s Choice executive director, hosted the festivities. “We are happy to be sharing this wonderful moment with the Kathrins as we celebrate their being our 1,000th residents, but also for all our residents who joined our community and have the rich, varied lifestyle they are enjoying every day. Their belief in what we had to offer in 62-plus living has made us proud to say that home is not a place, but a feeling that you find and they have found it at Ann’s Choice.”
Local Enthusiasts
Will and Dorothy lived nearby in Warminster so they learned about Ann’s Choice just by driving by the community.
“We’d heard about it a year or two ago,” says Dorothy. “When we decided it was time for us to consider this great lifestyle, we went with a group from Ann’s Choice to the Philadelphia race track. We had such a great time we made up our minds right then and put our names on the Priority List.”
