As Marge and Jerry Freimark begin their new life at Ann’s Choice, they have to laugh about the day they moved to the sprawling 103-acre community.

“It was around Halloween, so we moved in costumes,” Marge laughs, who moved with her husband Jerry from northeast Pennsylvania.

Beyond the date, though, there was nothing scary about choosing Ann’s Choice.

“We looked around a bit and by far Ann’s Choice was the best,” says Jerry. “We liked the financial arrangement with the 100% Refundable Entrance Deposit. It just made sense that we should keep more money in our pocket.”

Marge liked the financial aspect as well. But she pointed out that the newness of the community was also attractive. “I like the idea that it’s a new community,” she says. “No one has been here for a long time, so everyone’s in the same place. People are friendly and excited to meet you.”

With both children grown and living on the east coast, one in Virginia, the other in North Carolina, the Freimarks still get to see their kids and grandchildren fairly often.

“Our daughter and son-in-law came up for a week to help us unpack,” says Jerry. “They really like this place and that makes us feel good knowing we made the right choice.”

New Home With Everything

Just listening to the Freimarks talk about their new home you get the sense they got the one they wanted. Like most savvy people, they joined the Priority List and wasted no time in reserving their home when their opportunity came up.

“The home we got was the Oxford,” says Jerry. “It’s on the third floor in Lewis Pointe and it’s got two bedrooms and two full baths.” Jerry emphasized the “full” baths because he likes to relax with “a good soak” in the tub.

“A nice big tub is so relaxing,” he says, “plus the master bedroom is bigger than the one we had in our house. We’re very pleased.”

In addition to the space, the Freimarks are also pleased with the view. “We face the east so every morning we get this beautiful sunlight streaming in,” says Jerry. “I’ve got some nice big plants in the window sills, and they seem pretty happy.”

No Winter Blahs

With winter officially here, the Freimarks have already started to enjoy all the great amenities and clubs that they can take advantage of year round.

“I like to ballroom dance so perhaps they can start a club for that,” says Marge. “I also like movies. I think the Performing Arts Center is a great place to see a movie without having to drive somewhere.”

Marge also likes playing bridge and hopes to join that club as well. Jerry, on the other hand, is taking full advantage of the Fitness Center and swimming pool. “It’s nice to know I can go for a warm, refreshing swim when there’s snow on the ground,” he says.

In addition to keeping in shape, Jerry is interested in science and wants to start up a think tank club. “I think it’s important to be informed, to know what’s going on,” he says. “The more you know, the better educated you are. Ann’s Choice is filled with wellinformed, educated people.”

One popular club, the Socrates Circle, may soon include Jerry as a new member.

But like Marge, Jerry is hardly a serious science guy. To the contrary, he is into photography and is a humorist who often writes down jokes about getting older.

“My eyesight is getting bad,” he jokes, “so I can’t wait till the year 2020 when we’ll all see better.”
